Nothing says self care to me like a long soak in the bath. Add a sprinkling in rose petals and a few drops of essential rose oil can make this a real simple treat seem like a luxury!
Here is my simple recipe for how to make your own Rose Petal Bath Salts

Ingredients
130 grams of Epson Salts
1 tablespoon of Olive Oil
7 drops of Essential Rose Oil
1/4 cup of Dried Rose Petals (see my tips on how to dry rose petals below)
Add the Essential Rose oil to the Olive Oil, then mix this into the Epsom Salts. Sprinkle the rose petals on top and store in a glass jar.
Be careful the bath doesn't get slippery when using these bath salts.
Epsom salts have a wide range of benefits, good for dry skin, soothes headaches and stomach cramps.
Rose can enhance your mood with its beautiful calming scent, as well as soothing irritated skin. Brightening your complexion and tightening pores.
You could also try Lavender which is really good aid for relaxation, so add some lavender under the running water for that extra relaxation.
Pat your skin dry, rather than rubbing. This helps your skin retain some of the moisture from the rose petal bath.
Apply moisturiser while your skin is still damp to keep it soft and supple.
Drying your own rose petals.
If possible use home grown flowers. The biggest, brightest bug free blooms are the best for drying. Pick the flowers mid morning, so the dew has dried but the sun hasn't started to effect the fragrance. Cut the roses the same way as you would when picking them for a posy.
Shop bought flowers are ok to dry as well, but they are often sprayed with chemicals when grown and these will remain on the petals.
1. Gently pick the petals from the base of the flower.
2. Arrange in a single layer. If they overlap, they will stick to each other as they dry.
3. Place tray in a cool spot away from direct sunlight.
4.The drying process may take at least a week. Turn the petals once a day to speed up the drying process.
Once the rose petals turn crisp, store in a clean jar with a tight seal.
CAUTION:
Essential oils are very concentrated, if you have sensitive skin do a PATCH TEST before getting into the bath. Never use essential oils undiluted as they could irritate the skin.
