Did you know lemons are great for air fresheners and cleaning. The beauty of using lemons is they don't contain any harmful chemicals, and they leave everything smelling fresh and gleaming 😊
Lemon and Lavender Air freshener
Cut 1 lemon in half and scoop out the middle.
Use a small knife to cut out the centre of the lemon.
Then scoop out the middle using a spoon. (Why not make lemonade with the middle part?)
Place 250 g of sea salt in a small bowl and add 25 drops of Lavender essential oil.
(Or use tea tree oil for a fresher aroma).
Mix the essential oil into the salt and spoon into the half lemon shells.
Sprinkle more essential oil onto the salt if you want a stronger scent.
Put each lemon half on a saucer and place on window sill around the house. The warmth from a radiator or from sunshine will help diffuse the oils scent.
Wooden Chopping Boards
To remove stains or smells from your wooden chopping boards just sprinkle on some salt. Cut a lemon in half and use the cut side to scrub the salt over the board. Rinse and if needed, repeat and you will have a fresh chopping board, ready to use again.
